Nicolas Cage (wisely) Backs Out of Seth Rogen’s Green Hornet Movie

This movie will not end well. Mark my words. Nic Cage apparently had a verbal agreement to play the villain in Seth Rogen’s Green Hornet movie. Since nothing was in stone, Cage has moved on to other signed projects. Given the delays already plaguing this movie and Disney putting Tr2n against it, maybe it should just go directly to DVD. I’m tired of writing about this train wreck…

Variety is reporting that Sony has decided to push back the release date of effects heavy (???) Green Hornet movie from July 9, 2010 to December 17, 2010. I still can’t believe this news bit I just read. Seth Rogen’s Green Hornet movie appears to be floundering. Rogen is producing, writing and starring as the Green Hornet; with Michel Gondry (Be Kind Rewind & Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind) directing. Originally, Stephen Chow of Kung-Fu Hustle fame was set to direct and star as Kato. Perfect casting I thought; but early on, Chow dropped out of the project entirely citing creative differences.
