New Jonah Hex Movie Pics

I honestly can’t understand why this movie isn’t getting more hype. Sure westerns are kind of out of vogue in Hollywood right now, however Warner Bros. has not only tapped Josh Brolin (No Country for Old Men, Goonies) to bring DC’s Jonah Hex to life, but also Megan Fox (Transformers) as his love interest and John Malkovich (really? if you don’t know, leave…) as the villain. Let’s see… A-list talent, a hottish leading lady, a rich character history and cowboys mixed with the supernatural. Here’s ...

Book of Eli Movie Trailer

I first wrote about this movie after my trip to San Diego Comic-con this year and can now share the coolness that is The Book of Eli. Set in a post-war future, Denzel Washington plays Eli, a wanderer that is protecting what looks to be a Bible. Gary Oldman's Billy wants it for himself and will kill for it. The only problem is, so will Eli. I've never seen Denzel whip this much @$$ in a movie. See for yourself and let me know what you think. Buy Comics at Things From Another World

Mass Effect Comic Coming From Dark Horse

This announcement actually happened during San Diego Comic-Con this year. Dark Horse is just getting the hype-machine started. For anyone looking forward to Mass Effect 2 this is great news. Dark Horse plans to release a four-issue limited series that will bridge the gap between the two Mass Effect games and will go into more back story of the characters in the game and the galaxy in general. Titled Mass Effect: Redemption, the series will be written by game lead scriptwriter Mac Walter...

With the Purchase of Marvel, is Disney Looking to Pick Some Fights?

Disney has announced the release date of Tron 2 (or Tr2n, if you go by funky spelling posters...) - December 17, 2010. For anybody that hasn't been payin attention, that's the exact date that Sony moved Seth Rogen's Green Hornet movie to the week prior. Three guesses which movie will win at the box office and you only need one. Tron has enough of a legacy and fan following that this was a no-brainer for Disney, which translates to a hearty "f-you Sony!" straight from the House of Mouse. For ...

Lionsgate Sets Release Date for Kick-Ass

Via their Twitter feed, Lionsgate has confirmed a April 16, 2010 release date for Matthew Vaughn's Kick-Ass. This is going to be a guaranteed "Cinderella-story" for people bringing unsigned movies to San Diego Comic-Con. Word is, Mark Millar is already working a sequel (I just hope that John Romita, Jr. finishes the last issue before the movie comes out...). If you've been living on the moon or some other place without an internet connection, check out some older Kick-Ass news here to get up to ...

Terry Gilliam’s Dr. Parnassus Gets a December Release Date in the U.S.

This was another movie that was shown at San Diego Comic-Con that I was worried wouldn't get a U.S. ditribution deal in time for a 2009 release. My worries were unfounded. Sony Pictures Classics has picked up the U.S. distribution rights and set a Christmas Day release. The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus will open in the U.K. on October 16 and will also be shown at the Toronto Film Festival on September 18 (although any attending media is restricted from giving any reviews until after the U.S and ...

Is a Red Sonja Movie Still In the Works?

I guess everyone has relationship problems that can affect work sometimes. Robert Rodriguez and Rose McGowan haven’t been an item for a while now - leaving us all wondering what going to happen with the Red Sonja movie that ‘driguez hyped so hard at the 2008 San Diego Comic-Con. Producer Joe Gatta recently told the press that a Red Sonja movie is still on the agenda, he plans to push a Conan reboot movie first. McGowan responded to questions from fans on her Twitter account by implying that she ...
