The more I see, the better it gets. At first, I though Disney was just giving director Tim Burton the right to make a dark, goth version of Alice In Wonderland. After watching this second trailer, this movie deals with Alice returning to Wonderland after her first visit. Since she’s been gone, the Red Queen has completely taken over Wonderland. With the return of Alice, the White faction of Wonderland citizens has found its champion a la Joan of Arc. Seems like that Burton has borrowed a little from the recent Looking Glass Wars series of books by Frank Beddor to add a little conflict and less bewilderment. Watch the trailer below and let me know what you think.

See, Thats how I feel. Johnny Depp is not the man for this role. I do not see him giving a Emmy Award winning performance. He looks like he feels awkward (at least, thats what I get from the commercials) and that its a total recast of Willy Wonka.
__I am going to hate on this for one reason. Johnny Depp in my opinion isn’t the cat for this role. There are lots of actors too choose from and the freak show look that Johnny Depp adds is over the top for the madhatter. Sure they want a freak show but even the make looks retarded on him in this instance and doesn’t look creative. Otherwise the film look Passing decent in a CHOCOLATE FACTORY sort of way (not impressive film)
I don’t know, if you’ve ever tried to read the original material, it’s almost perfect to me. Tim Burton must be on the same drugs as Carroll was…
Meh.
This does not look good. The effects look ‘too cartoony’ (though I’m sure they didn’t have the full rendering of Special Effects installed yet, since it costs extra to do so for a commercial via royalties).
He put Helena Bonham in a lead role, again. Opposite of Johnny Depp. Again.
He seems to think that they have the chemistry of Leo and Kate Winslett.
Hey Tim. THEY DON’T!
I’m not going to see this. It looks like he made the classic blunder, once again, of replacing ‘awe inspiring animation’ in place of solid acting and storyline.
