If I had three wishes – they would be (in this order): world peace, I want $1,000,000 a year for the rest of my life and that Bryan Singer not be allowed to go near a Marvel movie again unless it’s being made by Marvel Studios!
I’m ok now. Bryan Singer has twice now expressed interest in directing another movie in the X-Men franchise – be it Wolverine or the proposed X-Men: First Class movies. I’ve said this before on ComicCenter: I was excited to see every single X-Men movie simply because it was X-Men on the big screen. Roger Corman could have been the director and I still would have gone to see it. But after the release of Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk, Marvel Studios has shown us that movies don’t have to sacrifice stories or characterization for Hollywood. Which is what has happened with the three comic based movies Singer has done. Don’t get me started on his Superman movie – talk about setting a franchise back ten years. Please Lauren Shuler Donner and Fox: don’t let Bryan Singer near another X-Men movie. Please.
