Disney has announced the release date of Tron 2 (or Tr2n, if you go by funky spelling posters…) – December 17, 2010. For anybody that hasn’t been payin attention, that’s the exact date that Sony moved Seth Rogen’s Green Hornet movie to the week prior. Three guesses which movie will win at the box office and you only need one. Tron has enough of a legacy and fan following that this was a no-brainer for Disney, which translates to a hearty “f-you Sony!” straight from the House of Mouse. For the past two years, Disney has been teasing attendees of San Diego Comic-Con with bits of footage from the new Tron movie and each time, Hall H has exploded. I don’t even remember seeing anything from Green Hornet this year except for the car GH will be chauffeured in. Whoopee. As much as I’d like to see Green Hornet get made, someone needs to tell Seth Rogen that the project has turned into an albatross before it’s too late.
