Maybe somebody at DC either reads the blogs or finally realized what most of us have: Mark Bagley’s pencils do not belong on the Batman titles. Too bright. Too happy. Too ’90′s. But, he does draw team books well (New Warriors, Amazing Spider-Man (Hey, when he was on it, it was a team book…), Thunderbolts…). Now we just need a writer who understands that this is a flagship DC title and doesn’t need to star C-List heroes (Vixen? Plastic-Man? Dr. Light? C’mon!); it needs to have the best and brightest on the team in grandiose, world-saving stories. Not fighting the Royal Flush Gang. When that’s your villain(s) for the JLA, you gotta know your lineup is weak. I wanna see Bat-Somebody, Super-Somebody, Wonder Woman, a Green Lantern, a Flash and then you can throw in some B-Listers. No C’s. Thankfully, James Robinson has been brought on to write the title. Here’s to hoping that he brings a little of his “StarMan” magic to the JLA…
