Kick-@$$ will in fact, Kick-@$$

More than Wanted, Mark Millar’s Kick-Ass will be closer to the comic than most Hollywood comic book kickass_hitgirladaptations. From the bits of the movie shown at Comic-Con, the movie is effectively in the can and just waiting on music score and tracks from some big name bands. Directed by Matthew Vaughn and stars relative unknown actor Aaron Johnson as Dave Lizewski/ Kick-Ass; along with Nicolas Cage as Damon Macready, Christopher Mintz-Plasse (don’t call him McLovin… he hates that. The look in his eye could’a killed that poor schmuck…) as Red Mist and future star Chloe Moretz as Hit Girl /Mindy Macready. Kick-Ass is about a high school kids obsessed with comic books and decides to become a real hero; going so far as to make his own costume and codename. After getting his butt handed to him a couple of times, he hooks up with fellow crimefighters played by Cage and Macready. From the footage shown, I got the same feeling that I got when I watched Tobey Maguire don the Spider-Man costume. This movie will have all the action and blood of Wanted; mixed with the dry humor of The Fifth Element. The reaction was from the Comic-Con was absolutely insane. Matthew Vaughn mentioned that he does not have a distributor for the movie: they will soon. Now if John Romita Jr. would just move his pencils a little faster across the page, we might read the last comic BEFORE the movie is released.
