X-Men: Forever Review

So far, I like this series. It brings me back to the X-Men that I remember when I was a kid (You remember when Xavier was infallible…). Every issue leaves you in suspense and waiting for the next. So far, we join the X-Men under the thumb of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Nick Fury who sends them on a mission to subdue Cortez. Wolverine and Jean Grey are having some sort of mental affair, until Wolverine is apparently blown up and is nothing more than an adamantium skeleton missing a claw. Meanwhile, Jean has a breakdown and knocks everyone unconscious. When the X-Men wake up, Jean is unconscious, and they still don’t know where Wolverine is. Enter Sabertooth, he is pissed and attacks the X-Men in full force, only to have his eyes fried out of his head by Storm. Cyclops is none to happy with Storm. When Sabertooth wakes up, he accuses Storm of killing his son (yeah, son, so much for continuity…). The Professor goes into Jean’s head and stumbles across Wolverine and Jean locking lips, and then sees Wolverine, missing a claw, getting fried by Storm. Jean awakes and mentally goes after Storm saying that she killed her love (yeah, Scott was thrilled). Storm escapes only to be followed by Kitty Pride (SNIKT?!?) who apparently has one of Wolverine’s claws and slices Storm across the face. I cannot wait for the next issue. Thank you Chris Claremont.
