As the Warner Bros. movie, Green Lantern, moves forward in preproduction, the “finalists” for the starring role of Hal Jordan have narrowed down to three. According to THR, Bradley Cooper (The Hangover), Justin Timberlake (Black Snake Moan, SNL) and Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool) have gone through two rounds of screen tests and there is still no clear cut favorite. Seems that Warner Bros., the producers (Donald De Line and Greg Berlanti) and director Martin Campbell (Casino Royale) all have different choices of the three. This is a space cop drama. Not a comedy. Not an SNL skit. My question is, why is JT even under consideration? I’ve only seen Bradley Cooper in comedies. In my opinion, if it’s down to those three, give it to Reynolds. Reynolds can pull off serious, bad@ss, funny and knows what is takes to do a comic movie (don’t blame him for Wolverine; even he thought is sucked…). With a budget quickly climbing towards $200 million and a release date of December 2010; they better make a decision quick…
